A Perfect Day

Coming Home

First stop, Lupo's for a pork spiedie sub for lunch.

Second stop, The Cider Mill for an authentic nutmeg cake doughnut and fresh cider. Mmmm.

Next, we went apple picking.

Then we went to a Binghamton institution, Sharkey's for dinner. M was very excited to see ethnic foods on the menu: halupkis (stuffed cabbage or pigs in a blanket), pierogies (a ravioli type covering stuffed with cheese and potatoes), salt potatoes, steamed clams, and spiedies again of course. Now we are satiated and planning our day tomorrow. Hopefully it won't be as rainy and cold as the forecast is calling for, planning to hit the local farmer's markets and look for local cheeses, maybe get a hike in and meet up with family for a great Italian dinner. Ahhhh. I must be dreaming.

Ok, all I heard was the pigs in a blanket, and perogies, and you had steamed clams, how did I miss that :) Was really glad to see you and M. Always wish it did not go so fast. Sorry Im such an old poop these days, but the 6 days a week working either at the "nut house" or doing the markets, is making me old :( Can't wait to see the rest of the post. Hope you got some photo's of Ithaca's market when you were up there also, it's been several years since I've been there also.
