Ya think. One of my peaves is that where we work, they place big emphesis, on "degrees" which certainly does mean something, and is needed for some jobs. But not all, and sometimes people can still learn, on the job training so to speak, but nooo, that's not how it is done any more. Then they hire kids (20) somethings, who have never had a real job, or experience, and do not know what it actually means to W O R K 40 hours a week. Then they get bored and quit. When company could have just moved the person that was doing the job intill they hired the 20 something with the degree, never giving the person who already could do the job, but had no degree a chance or raise. This makes me crazy as see this all the time. In the days of old when we were IBM, there were classes all the time, to keep everyones skills current. NO MORE. Learn on the fly if you can. And if you have a degree, all the better, YOUR HIRED.
I experienced that back in the 80s when I worked for a division of Monsanto.
