You can't fool me! I don't see anybody IN all that lovely water. ;)
Of course they're not "in" the water, well, okay, actually, there were a few surfers in body suits, but I don't think that counts. The point is, it's a sunny beach with no snow. It was pretty, but cold. We're waiting for our annual February snow so we can go on a wild pony hunt.

How come you have wild pony hunts in the winter, they are there in spring also? Or are there just more around in the winter, Just curious. P
ahhh to be at the beach ANYTIME of year "is a good thing!!!" I love to go back to Long Island in the winter and go to the beach, when the kids were little we use to walk down to the beach and build snowmen!! Someday I hope to come see the wild ponies!

At least you have waves in your water. Our water now looks like an open field with ice-fishing villages all over.
Pat, we have the same number of ponies year round, we just do our pony hunts when it snows so we can track them on the island. It's hard to track them in warm weather, plus all the prickers would be on the bushes, the flies, mosquitoes, and ticks would be out, etc....so we've discovered that snowy weather is the optimal time to go hunt ponies, then we take pictures of them when we find them.
HI there.. This does make winter less tedious.. Its -36 plus windchills tonight. Its cold. Schools have been canclled for today already.. Hope things are good on your end..
Ice fishing! I thought that was nuts even when I lived in Wisconsin! There's always a genius or two who goes out too early or too late and ends up having their shed plunk into the water.

The geniuses here always quote the "you need 4 inches of ice to drive a vehicle on". So what do they do on that measly 4 inches of ice? Park 4 vehicles, 4 heavy ice shacks, and 12 overweight rednecks all within 5 feet of each other!
In the spring, we get the geniuses who like to run their snowmobiles across stretches of open water.
It's a miracle that more of them don't die!
